Founder & Acupuncturist

Dr. Christine Palma, DACM, L.Ac., FABORM, is the founder of Fire Over Water Acupuncture & Functional Medicine and one of a small number of New York acupuncturists to hold the FABORM board certification in reproductive acupuncture. With over 15 years of experience, she leads a multidisciplinary team helping individuals and couples conceive through fertility care and IVF/IUI support, and works with complex hormonal and chronic conditions — chronic pain, thyroid and autoimmune disorders, and metabolic imbalances — including those that haven't responded to previous treatment. A former collegiate runner and triathlete, she brings that firsthand experience to her pain and sports medicine work. She holds a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, a Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from SUNY Stony Brook.

Acupuncturist

Elizabeth Sharma, L.Ac., NCCAOM, is a licensed acupuncturist, certified yoga instructor, DONA International-trained doula, and Vedic meditator. She holds a Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science and a Bachelor's in Sociology from Hunter College. Specializing in pain management, digestive health, and hormonal and reproductive wellness, she tailors a range of TCM techniques to each patient — including trigger point release, electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, qi gong, tui na, and herbal and dietary therapy. Inspired by her own recovery from a childhood back injury, Elizabeth brings compassion and insight to every treatment. Outside the clinic, she's an avid backpacker who has covered over 3,000 miles on foot and deepened her mindfulness practice through travels in India, Nepal, and Thailand.

She holds a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and a Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University, and a Bachelor of Science in Acupuncture earned in London.

Intuitive Interior Decorator & Food Consultant

Jöne Pan is an entrepreneur who works as an Intuitive Interior Decorator and Food Consultant, drawing on her experience in real estate, Michelin-starred kitchens, and her own biohacking after Western medicine failed to resolve her chronic health issues.

If you've been told your symptoms are a mystery — that everything looks fine while you feel anything but — Jöne has lived it. She trained as a chef in Michelin-starred restaurants in France and California starting in 2007, and was young and active when fevers, chronic rhinitis, fatigue, and insomnia began quietly derailing her, until she traced them to a web of food intolerances — the worst being gluten, dairy, and eggs. Adopting the Anti-Candida and then Paleo diets all but eradicated her chronic fatigue and insomnia, and rebuilding her own health became the foundation of the work she now does as a Food Consultant, helping others eat and live in a way that lets them feel like themselves again.

Her design work runs on the same instinct for what makes a space feel right. It began in 2005 in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she worked as an investor, renovator, decorator, and property manager, and now spans projects in San Francisco, Paris, Amsterdam, and Tulum. She works intuitively toward minimalist, efficient design — with splashes of colour, plants, and feng shui — always weaving in each client's personal style to make a space both beautiful and energetically vibrant. A strong believer in whole-body health, she sees diet, bodywork, mindfulness, and even your living space as connected tools for feeling well.

Jöne holds an MBA in Business Strategy from Arizona State University, a B.S. in Mathematics/Computer Science from Santa Clara University, and a C.A.P. in French Cuisine from ESCF Ferrandi in Paris. She resides between Paris and Amsterdam and is available for Zoom consultations.
